Those bulls meeting these requirements and having a Final Test Index of 95 or above will be eligible to sell.  Since “light birth” Angus bulls have their own division, they must have a final test index of 100 to qualify for sale.

Special Section:
Three Angus Divisions

In the 2007 Test, there will be three separate Angus Divisions: (1) Angus "Light Birth Weight" Division, (2) Angus "Multi-Trait" Division, and (3) Angus "Growth" Division. Divisions will be housed together, but will be compared and sold separately. For bulls to qualify for each division, they must meet the following criteria*:

  • Light Birth Weight Division
    • Adjusted Birth Weight: 85 lbs.,(space)Maximum
    • Birth Weight EPD: +1.6 lbs., Maximum
  • Multi-Trait Division:
    • Birth Weight EPD: +2.8 lbs., Maximum
    • Yearling EPD: +72 lbs., Minimum
    • %IMF +.07, Minimum
  • Growth Division:
    • All bulls not qualifying for one of the above division

*Cal Poly reserves the right to adjust divisions after entries received so marketability can be improved for the best interest of the sale.

Bulls will be divided into the "Light Birth Weight" or "Multi-Trait" division by Cal Poly once verified by the official “weaning” A.H.I.R. report. Please note, this report can be submitted following the start of the test. However, if a bull does not meet all qualifications, he will be indexed in the "Growth" division. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF ALL INFORMATION TO CAL POLY IS AUGUST 1.
